I'm Back! Recent Travels Part 6

Gad-zooks, has it really been April since my last post?  Yes work and life got really complicated this summer and maybe Ill share some of that someday but for now I have a brief respite and can focus on writing for a bit.  To clear the backlog of weblogs that have built up (yes, that makes it a "klog of blogs" and yes I did just say that), I will begin with the most recent events and work my way back to May.

This blog is mostly a rubberman's travel tales, and the past two weeks were indeed given over to wide-ranging travel.  Returning home from Minnesota this past weekend I finally had a chance to relax from the unrelenting stress of the past month or so.  As soon as my official duties were completed I immediately jumped into the rubber pants and shirt I had stuffed into the trunk of the rental car and went off to the Minn. Institute of Arts.  I remember it well because I was really sweating struggling into the tight skin pants and shirt (all black except for the white piping) in the tight confines of the car.  Felt wonderful!  Although I went slightly conservative and threw on black dress slacks, it still felt fabulous to be out in rubber again.  The museum itself has some very nice male sculptures and included an encounter with a most curious squirrel.  I spent my last night in town sleeping in the same gear and even boarded the bus to western Wisc. to see my seester in it (though here I always dress down because bus travelers can be rather unpredictable).

By the time I got to Chicago, I was itching to chuck the dull threads and show my rubber so I packed the pants, shined up the rubber and wandered off into the Loop to take some photos and test out the new lime green rubber boots I had gotten in France the week before.  The boots are amazing and I love them but all that walking gave me a blister on one of my toes.  Walking around the city was rather interesting as I mingled with the rush hour pedestrians hastening to their offices in their dull threads.  Whether I "disappeared into the madding throng" I doubt, but mostly it felt rather comfortable as I surged along with the soulless masses on their way to their daily grind.  I must have made for some interesting coffee break conversation.  Thinking on it now, there are more guys into suit 'n tie fetish than into rubber, so I was in a minority of many for sure!  I was most uncomfortable during the day with several small groups of what I assumed were students touring the Loop.  These groups often get that teenage group mentality mocking anything out of the ordinary, so I usually steer clear of them.  The highlights of the day were "The Bean," the giant reflective spheroid in the Park where I got some nice reflection images, and the Main Library, where I was treated like any ordinary patron.  I like libraries!  If the rubber reflects the silver image and then again, is this an "Infinite Reflection?"

After a couple hours it was time to board the train home.  I got a sleeper compartment this time and was glad I did as the train was full and that makes for less comfortable travel and more agitated passengers.  Being alone in the compartment I felt free to let my rubber thoughts wander unimpeded, and boy was there a dam about to burst there with all the work I've been dealing with for the past month or so.  So up came the rubber and stim videos downloaded from a certain website and I just let myself feel the fullness (unrelieved) for a couple of hours.  It also felt especially nice to wake up to that same fullness and my anatomy strains to escape its rubber confines.  I need to get a sleeper car from now on.  By the time I got home it had been 3 full days in the same rubber outfit and sleeping in it again that night made it 4 days, and the pent up feelings came out in full force when I was able to hop into the hogsak finally on day 5 for a wild ride indeed, assisted by some highly focused paddling.

Marc Jacobs rubberist!?!

My friend Tynan Fox posted a video earlier this week on his blog featuring an interview with designer Marc Jacobs in which it is revealed that he wears rubber and likes it!  I could only smile.  You see, I've suspected (or at least hoped for) as much for over a year now, since the day I saw a nice looking man walk by me in the airport terminal in shiny black books with yellow trim.  I had to ask him (after complimenting) and he informed me they were by Marc Jacobs.  I don't think I was able to get a picture, though I am still scanning my archives.  Unfortunately they were also the previous years model and this years boots all featured rather gaudy color patterns (they are nominally a women's boot).  Finally found out how to order the black/yellow model in my size (I hope) and with luck will have them shortly.  I will post pix if and when they show up.
It's all part of a proliferation of designer rubber boots now on the market, from Hunter (at Nieman Marcus no less) to R. Lauren to Gucci and a few I've forgotten.  Most are a bit too feminine, with flowers and rainbows and such but a few are downright butch).  Leave a comment below if you can think of any other boots.  I check ebay sometimes prowling for bargains.  In the mean time, Marc, if you are reading this I'd like to shake your hand, because I'll be dressed in (blue) latex to the nines when I do!  Bravo.

Scissor Sisters in Concert, Me in Rubber

I don't blog as often as I'd like and have 3 or 4 waiting to be written (including the Red part of my White, Blue and Red latex series), but wanted to post this one while it was still fresh in my memory . . .

Went to see Scissor Sisters in concert yesterday and as with all things I do, I dressed in full latex.   Before I talk about the show I should note that my expectations were a little different.  Haven't listened to much new music in the past decade or so, finding the quality of rock and roll to have declined somewhat over the years.  I went for the fetish aspect and here I can credit ruffsstuffblog for piquing my interest in the band, its style, and front man Jake Shears especially, who leans strongly to shiny tight fetishistic gear onstage.  Hadn't really heard much of their music but always interested in something new.

Being a workday Monday night my mates decided to stay home and go to bed early but I sucked it up, slid into my 30-hole black boots, black / white stripe pants and Fred Perry shirt and went into town.  Got a pleasant surprise running into two furry friends waiting for the doors to open.  Hung with them for most of the show, but inside met another kinky friend and then one of our communities nicest dominatrixes (is that an oxymoron?).  Hung with her the rest of the show too (she knows the security guard there on first name basis so we hoped to get in backstage but no luck there).

Felt like the old man in the crowd (I swear no older than 39!) until I began to see a few guys and gals my age.  But even with the young crowd dominating I was by far the kinkiest guy in the hall. So lots of pix, a few gropes and a healthy dose of compliments during the evening.

Waited 90 minutes for show to start but ears were already ringing by that point.  The crowd went wild!   Del Marquis came in semi-tight black semi-shiny pants and stayed "cool" the entire performance.  Ana Matronic came out in a kinky red vinyl skirt and top outfit.  Jake first came out in a black and grey combo that wasn't all that hot to me, at least not until the top came off. Omg is he built, but the suit was too complex and not very tight and that my eye kept focusing the parts of the upper body that were quite visible and not the suit.  Not a bad thing!

ready for the long drive into town

After the first few numbers I could tell it was going to be a really good show. Good strong beats and great energy.  About half way through came first Jake wardrobe change, a hot red vinyl combo in jeans and pocket vest.  I almost wore my red latex lace-up pants and red rubber top to the show.  Risk: upstaging the band.  Benefit:  might have gotten noticed by the band!  We'll never know.  Anyway he looked hot.  Then the vest came off and it was rather obvious that red dye had stained his chest red!  Kinda devilish I thought, tho I doubt it was planned that way.

I freely admit that even at my mature age I succumbed to the iPhone camera glut, taking pix almost constantly, punctuated by twitter updates.  Part of that is "new toy" syndrome having got the phone only a month ago.  The camera is very good but had some trouble with motion and the red pants tended to flare in the camera. Still got some good pix, tho not publication quality.

Fav tune was "Running Out" cause Jake looks hot running in step.  Recordings of this can be seen on YouTube.  For the encore we got Ana in a lovely flowing white dress and sash, and Jake in a fairly tame outfit I've seen on videos, until the final number when he came out in a very sexy outfit with horns and silver jock/cup/harness.  Didn't get many good pix of it tho.

Show ends, Friends go home, I linger, ending up at the bus waiting for the band, who left town straight away for New Orleans.  Never done that, waiting for the band (I don't normally hang on celebrity but did help Cyndi Lauper back on stage once a few years ago, my one fleeting brush with fame).  Didn't really want to do the whole autograph thing either but by the time Jake got through graciously working the crowd of thirty or so stragglers I gave in and asked for autograph and pic (which chopped off the top of my head).  We chatted for a few minutes, even had a laugh about the red staining, and then it was time to go home and sleep it off.

Got in the car and my ears were still ringing something crazy.  Was too tired to undressed by the time home so jumped into bed fully rubbered with my mates, but had some trouble sleeping.  Felt good to wake up hard to a sweaty rubber outfit, tho, and start think about my next crazed rubber adventure . .

He Wore Blue Latex . . .

"He wore bluuue latex,
shinier than leather was the sight,
slicker than vinyl - it was nice,
from the store
he wore bluuue latex . . . "

okay I'm thinking David Lynch here, not Bobby V., but I still had a great time hiking into the Canyon in these pants, as you can see.  These were taken during Xmas in the Natl Park.  It was cold but still felt great to be in latex most of the time.  There were more than a few double takes but also some thumbs-up and "cool outfits".  See my post from January for more details of this trip.
